This privacy policy explains how Father of Microscope (“ the App”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses and safeguards your information when you install and use the App.
1. Information We Collect
- Device ID / Instance ID — used once to bind the account to a single device (unless multi-device is enabled by your school).
- FCM token — for optional push notifications such as schedule updates or new lectures.
No personal identifiers such as name, email or phone are collected by the App itself. Login credentials are provisioned by your school and stored securely on our servers.
2. How We Use the Information
- Authenticate you and authorize access to purchased or assigned lecture videos.
- Send educational or service-related notifications (if allowed).
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized account sharing.
3. Third-Party Services
Father of Microscope streams video content via Bunny.net CDN. The CDN receives your IP address only to deliver the video files and does not share it back with us.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
The mobile application does not use cookies. A small encrypted token may be stored locally on your device for offline authentication (shared-preferences / secure storage).
5. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for use by school and university students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
6. Data Security
We apply industry-standard TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest on our Supabase database.
7. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account or stored device ID at any time by emailing us (see Contact section). We will comply within
30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you in-app.
